Artists' Film International
Until April 30th MAAT hosts the Artists’ Film International for the 2nd time, a program dedicated to screening videos, films, and animations produced by artists from around the world.
Launched in 2008 the Artists’ Film International, is a now global partnership involving 16 institutions, and every year, each member chooses a work by a prominent artist from their country, and then shares it with the other partners
The combined works are then exhibited in all the participating countries, bringing together artists whose practices are deeply rooted in their individual contexts. The program is designed as a dynamic and transcultural platform, a proposal for dissemination and sharing of contemporary artistic production in the field of moving images.
The MAAT’s exhibition taking place in the Boiler Hall, creates a sort of dialogue with the industrial machinery, and will present a group of films on the theme of “collaboration”.
In addition to the works resulting from collaborations between artists and other designers, the exhibition will also screen films that witness the renewed relevance and potential of collaborative experiences at a time when social, political and economic structures are worn.
